Kentucky and Tennessee are the biggest populated areas of the US with no Amtrak service.
Our states are eligible for $12 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law partnership grants for intercity passenger rail. We can also compete for $5 billion in rail improvement & safety grants and $3 billion for grade crossing safety improvements.
KYPath proposes a Bluegrass line on existing track Cincinnati to Atlanta, with stops in Lexington, Knoxville, and 18 other towns. Day & night trains can run each way each day at 40-60 mph. Bicycles can be carried on Amtrak's new fleet at any stop. Amtrak coach tickets are competitive with the cost of gas.
States (OH, KY, TN, GA) & Amtrak develop lines that have local support. States must cost-share for Federal funding.
